Eddie's story
Eddie spent 15 years working as a chef but during the pandemic, he lost everything.
“I was left with no job, no home, no nothing"
But with the support of HARP, Eddie's back on track. He has a somewhere to call home, and is even working for us now! Eddie's role is to prepare meals for people like him who fell on tough times.
“My life has drastically changed for the better since I walked into HARP. I’m not sure where I’d be today without them.”

Frequently asked questions
Are you a charity?
Yes! We're a registered charity number 1099126.
We're also registered with the Fundraising Regulator, a voluntary scheme for charities committed to legal, open, honest an respectful fundraising.
Can I volunteer?
Yes! We have more volunteers than staff - and we're always looking for more. Click here if you'd like to find out more.
Why should I leave a message of support?
For many of the people we support, Christmas is a lonely and isolating time. Many have lost contact with their friends and family. We're doing everything we can to support them, but your message can show them someone out there (a stranger like you!) does care.
Where does the money go?
Every item in this store is a supply or service provided by HARP. We see immense demand for our services all year around, especially at Christmas time when the streets are freezing cold. Anything you buy (and any Gift Aid contribution) will be used to fund the purchase and distribution of the supplies or services you buy.
If a lot of people buy the same item and we have an urgent shortfall in other items, we will seek to even things up to provide the full range of vital services our projects need. This means that in some cases, some of your donations could be used for a different item or service. Whatever happens, we promise that 100% of your purchase will be used to help end homelessness.
Can I get an update on my gift?
We don't have the resource to track every gift - but if you opt into phone and or email contact we'll provide an update on your impact.
